About Hanuman Mantra
Lord Hanuman, the supreme devotee of Lord Rama, is one of the most revered deities in Hinduism. Known as Bajrangbali (the one with a body as strong as a thunderbolt), Sankat Mochan (remover of troubles), and Pawanputra (son of the Wind God Vayu), Hanuman embodies the highest ideals of strength, courage, devotion, and selfless service. Hanuman mantras are among the most potent sacred chants for protection, overcoming obstacles, and building inner courage.
The worship and chanting of Hanuman mantras has a rich tradition spanning thousands of years. References to Hanuman appear in the Ramayana, the Mahabharata, and numerous Puranas. The Sundara Kanda of the Ramayana — widely regarded as the most beautiful section of the epic — is entirely devoted to Hanuman's heroic journey to Lanka. This chapter itself is considered a powerful spiritual text, and its recitation is equivalent to mantra practice for many devotees.
Hanuman mantras work on multiple planes of existence. On the physical level, they are believed to strengthen the body, boost immunity, and build vitality — reflecting Hanuman's own legendary physical prowess. On the mental level, chanting these mantras cultivates courage, dispels fear, and builds unshakeable confidence. On the spiritual level, Hanuman mantras connect the devotee with the energy of pure bhakti (devotion) and selfless service, which Hanuman personifies to perfection.
One of the most remarkable aspects of Hanuman is his status as a Chiranjeevi — one of the immortals who still walks the earth according to Hindu belief. This makes Hanuman mantras particularly powerful because devotees believe the deity is directly accessible and responsive to sincere prayers. Countless practitioners across India report immediate tangible effects when calling upon Hanuman during times of crisis.
Hanuman is also considered an avatar of Lord Shiva, sent to serve Lord Rama during the Treta Yuga. This connection gives Hanuman mantras a dual potency — they carry both the protective might of Shiva and the devotional grace of Rama's greatest devotee. The Hanuman Chalisa, composed by Tulsidas in the 16th century, explicitly states that Hanuman is Shiva's eleventh Rudra avatar.
The tradition of Hanuman worship is especially strong among those facing physical challenges, legal battles, career obstacles, or any form of adversity. Wrestlers, athletes, soldiers, and martial artists across India have long considered Hanuman their patron deity. Chanting Hanuman mantras before any challenging endeavor is a time-honored practice believed to ensure success through divine strength and protection.
Hanuman mantras are most powerful when chanted on Tuesdays and Saturdays, which are sacred days for Hanuman worship. The festival of Hanuman Jayanti (celebrated in Chaitra month, typically April) is the most auspicious occasion for intensive Hanuman mantra sadhana. Chanting during sunrise, after applying sindoor (vermillion), and while facing south or east amplifies the mantras' effects.

Founder, MantraList.in
LinkedInI grew up in a household where every morning began with the fragrance of incense and the sound of aarti. What started as a family tradition became a deeply personal practice — I found that chanting mantras before work brought clarity to my decisions, calm to stressful days, and a sense of connection that nothing else could.
As an entrepreneur, I noticed that authentic mantra resources online were either incomplete or hard to follow. So I built MantraList.in — a place where seekers can find accurate Sanskrit text, proper pronunciation, word-by-word meaning, and practical chanting guides, all in one place. Every Hanuman Mantra page on this site is personally reviewed by me to ensure the Sanskrit is correct and the guidance is rooted in tradition.
When I am not building MantraList.in, I perform evening aarti with my family — a ritual that keeps me grounded through the demands of entrepreneurship. I believe mantras are not just words; they are vibrations that transform your inner world, and everyone deserves access to them.
